Victoria (Vickie) Wysoker Freidenreich Zagorin
Vickie was born in New Brunswick in 1923 to Aron and Esther Horowitz Wysoker. Her family moved to Highland Park when she was a pre-teen. She graduated Highland Park High School in 1941 and NYU School of Commerce in 1945. She was captain of the girl’s field hockey team of HPHS and also played field hockey for NYU.
Vickie’s passions were her family, her volunteer activities, sports and games. With her husband David Freidenreich, she raised a family in Highland Park and together they maintained an accounting practice in Highland Park. She was President of the Raritan Valley Chapter of Hadassah and President of the PTA of Moriah Yeshivah of New Brunswick (the predecessor of RPRY of Edison). After David’s death in 1975, she married Louis A. Zagorin and moved to Lakewood, NJ. There she was President of the Lakewood Chapter of Hadassah and volunteered at Paul Kimball Hospital in Lakewood. After Louis’ death in 2000, she returned to Highland Park. Throughout her life Vickie served in many board positions of the Southern New Jersey Region of Hadassah and she volunteered for Jewish Family Service.
She is survived by three sons from her first marriage and their wives, Philip (Harriet), Sheldon (Bonnie) and Elliot (Anita), a step-daughter/daughter-in-law Bonnie Zagorin Freidenreich, a step-son Irving Zagorin (Susan), 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Victoria Zagorin Fund at Hadassah (Hadassah.org).
