Sondra J Witlieb

Sondra Joyce Witlieb, age 88, died on September 8, 2024. Born in The Bronx, NY February 22nd 1936 to Michael and Lena Tunis where she lived until she met and married Stanley Witlieb in 1959. As Stanley’s career blossomed they moved around the tristate area. Her son Mark was born in New York City, Beth her daughter was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Eventually settling in East Windsor, NJ where Sondra worked for the state of New Jersey as a senior Administrative Assistant for over 26 years until she retired in 2002.

Sondra was an avid Bingo and Mahjong player but her claim to fame is her successful run in the mid 1990’s in her office football pool. Nothing brought more happiness to Sondra than spending time with her family. Her stuffed cabbage was a family favorite at the many holidays Sondra hosted. Passover she always made her mondel bread. Whenever she was going to see cousin Marty, she had to bring him her cheesecake with blueberries. 

It’s an homage to Sondra that both her children are excellent cooks. 

Sondra is survived by children Mark and Wendy Witlieb, Beth and Michael Berger, Grand Children Alexandra and Cullen Grubb, Jennifer Witlieb, Lindsay and Joshua Berger and Great Granddaughter Aleighna Berger.
