Rozalia Leopold

North Brunswick

Rozalia (Vadasz) Leopold, 92, passed away peacefully at the Saint Peter’s University Hospital of New Brunswick on March 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. 

Born in Csorotnek Hungary, Rozalia, husband and daughter came to America in 1956 following the Hungarian Revolution. 

Rozalia made her home in New Brunswick, Franklin and finally in North Brunswick where she resided for 57 years. Rozalia was a dedicated homemaker as well as an established seamstress. She worked for The Bridal Shop in Highland Park, then Macy's as manager of alterations until retiring in 1997. She also made and designed clothes for herself and family. Rozalia’s family was very important to her. She loved nothing more than having her entire family around her table. 

Her husband, Julius (Guyla) Leopold, preceded Rozalia’s death in 2021. She was also preceded by two brothers and two sisters. Rozalia is survived by her sister, Livia Markus and her husband in Hungary. 

Rozalia will be sadly missed by her family. She is survived by her: children, Erika Lounsbery of Virginia, Julius Leopold and his wife Patty of New Jersey, and Steven Leopold and his wife Melissa of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Jarrod, Kelsey of Virginia, Kaitlyn, husband T.J., and Matthew of New Jersey, Blake, wife Ash, and Hunter of PA; four great grandchildren, Abalene, Britton, Jordy, and Lily. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Ladislaus R.C. Church, where Rose was a parishioner for 69 years.
