Mr. Roger E Broyles Sr.

September 15, 1943 — October 21, 2021

Roger E. Broyles, Sr., son of the late Ralph and Ann (Leposa) Broyles was born September 15, 1943, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. After a brief illness, he departed this life peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 21, 2021.

In 1961, Roger graduated from South River High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1963. Whereas he continued serving his country in Paris, France. Thereafter, Roger joined the Highland Park Police Department as an officer for 26 years retiring in 1997. He later worked for the State of New Jersey, Public Defender’s Office as an Investigator for 19 years.

In September of 2014, Roger entered Holy Matrimony with Stephanie Rivers.

During the year of 2017, Roger and Stephanie relocated to Youngsville, North Carolina.

Quality time was spent on his boat with his children during the many fishing adventures. The fondest memories will forever be encased in their minds.

Accompanied by his wife, Roger loved going on vacations to the Poconos Mountains, Dominican Republic and other islands.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Frank
Goehring; brothers, Wayne and Jim; sister, Janice; daughter, Felicia and niece, Renee.

Roger leaves to cherish and forever be remembered: his loving and devoted wife, Stephanie Broyles of Youngsville, NC;
one son, Roger E. Broyles, Jr (Layne), of Randolph, NJ; one daughter, Tara Broyles (Katie), of South Brunswick, NJ., one brother and dear friend, Ralph F. Broyles (Loretta), of Hillsborough, NJ; three stepdaughters, Dominique Givens (Virgil), of North Carolina, NyLea and Melissa Rivers, all of Georgia; four grandchildren, Zoey Broyles , Quinn Grassi, Ryeleigh Grace and Emersyn Givens; mother-in-law, Inez Hemmingway; brother-in-law, Larry A. Hemingway, both of Trenton, NJ, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Services will be held, Friday, November 5, 2021 from 6:00PM -9:00PM and Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 9:30AM -11:00AM at Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. Burial to follow after Saturday services in St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Rex Cancer Center, rexhealthcarefoundation.com/donate in memory of Roger Broyles, Sr.
