Mrs. Roberta Evonne Daniels

Roberta Evonne was the eighth and youngest child born to Seggie and Geneva Ruffin on November15th1959 in New Brunswick. NJ. Roots thoroughly planted she stayed in the New Brunswick/Somerset area throughout life. Evonne met Ira during her school days. They wed in June of 1977. She graduated from Franklin High School in June1978 and soon after came Melissa, her firstborn. In November 1980 (on her birthday no less) they welcomed their second born Ira Jr. After 20 plus years of dedicated service to First Fidelity Evonne started Childcare Services from home. After relocating, Evonne continued to care for children within their community as a Transport Bus Aide and a Lunch Aide for Franklin Township BOE. During this time she was a constant steward in the House of Worship. Serving as an Usher with First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, and later joining Emmanuel Baptist Church of Somerset, where she achieved the role of Deaconess. Evonne was a social butterfly who always strived to keep family close and large as she loved and cared for many as if they were her own. She had a way of opening her heart and home to most any who needed it, never mind the circumstances. A devout Christian and devoted wife, sister, mother, and daughter, who was unwavering in her love, affection, and support of all of her many loved ones. She worked tirelessly to attend to then needs of both parents as well as her home. She was preceded in death by Husband Ira M. Daniels. Sr., Parents Seggie and Geneva Ruffin. and brother, Rev. Phillip Ray Ruffin. Evonne leaves to cherish her memory. Children: Melissa (Rahshun) Wroten, Ira M. Daniels, Jr. Tanzie N. Jarrett, Grandchildren: Ajah D.(Shambree) Daniels, Elijah M. Daniels, Dejah T. Daniels, Rahshun C. Wroten, Jr, and Ahniyah D. Wroten. Aneisha J. Jarrett, Great Grandchildren: Avry A. Rodriguez-Daniels, Zirah M. Daniels (July 2022) and Nyla N. Henry* Siblings: Willye Mae Lee, Seggie, Jr (Sandra) Ruffin, Mary M. Ruffin, I.V. (Linda) Ruffin, Robert (Ida Mae) Ruffin, Nathan (Doris) Ruffin and Edward Earl, Sr. (Dorene) Ruffin Evonne was small but a bundle of ǥre. Especially, when it came to protecting her family. She fiercely fought for what she believed was right and gave every after or ttoǥx anything that she thought she could. A warrior of this type is few and far between and as we continue together this battle of life the loss of such a strong soldier is devastating to an army like ours.
