Mr. Richard E. Kolesar,78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ. Richard was born, raised and lived most of his life in New Brunswick before moving to Monroe Township, NJ, twelve years ago.
A graduate of New Brunswick High School in 1960. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from July of 1960 to August of 1963 as a Gunner's Mate Guns Seaman.
Richard became a Pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 9. He worked many years as a pipefitter before retiring.
He was a member of the New Brunswick Elks Lodge #324 and a Commissioner for the New Brunswick Housing Authority.
He enjoyed golfing with his cousin, Tommy and fishing with his cousin, Freddy. Richard loved going to his Florida home for the winters.
Predeceased by his parents Elmer and Helen (Naronowich) Kolesar, he is survived by his beloved wife Ann Lee (Pellicane) Kolesar, his loving step-daughter, Robin Lagaktos, his dear sister, Bernadette Bognar and his niece, Donna Bognar and nephew Douglas Bognar.
Cremation was held privately and a future Memorial Service will be announced.
The family requests donations in Richard's memory be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the care of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
