Peter Paul Valerio, Pedro Pablo Valerio), 61, passed away at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. He was born Coamo, Puerto Rico and had lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to New Brunswick, NJ.
Peter enlisted in the United States Army in 1980 and served time in Germany. He received the Sharpshooter medal, Good conduct medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Mechanic Badge. Peter was discharged Honorably in 1986 after serving six years of active and reserve duties.
He was employed for many years as a Manager of Shipping and Receiving with Kohl & Madden in New York City before taking a job as a Delivery man-Technician of durable medical equipment for MetroStar, also in New York City.
In his spare time, Peter loved to play his drums. He loved rock 'n roll music and was very good friends with the lead singer of the band JOURNEY. Peter's favorite group of all times was RUSH. He was the family jokester and was a very mechanical person.
Peter was a very active member in his family, he is survived by his parents Victor Valerio and Guadalupe (Fermin) Martinez, his wife Jilma (Perez) Valerio, his children Monica Maria Valerio, Christine Valerio and her husband Ricardo Rodriguez and Peter Valerio, his grandchildren Jeffree Owen Valerio, Jordan L. Cubero Destiny L. Moran, Anthony, Alexandra E., Arielle and Analis Rodriguez, his siblings Margarita Grullon, Victor T. Valerio, Rosa Valerio and Victor E. Valerio. Peter was predeceased by his granddaughter Aliyah Rodriguez.
A funeral mass was held on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, 75 Morris Street, New Brunswick, NJ. Visiting took place at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Home, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Interment was at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
