Pelayo Torres, 68, of Somerset, NJ passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Care One in East Brunswick, NJ. Born and raised in Mao Valverdes, Dominican Republic, Pelayo came to the United States in the late 1980's. He has been residing in Somerset for many years.
Pelayo began his working career in construction as a laborer, later working as a maintenance man for many different places. He would do any type of work that would come his way in order to support his family.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his beloved NY Yankees play and listening to Spanish music. In general Pelayo was a tremendous person who 'knew it all". He was a beloved father and grandfather.
Predeceased by his parents Delfin Santana and Francisca Torres, survived by his loving children Franklin Torres, Jose L. Torres, Elizabeth Torres, Jose Manuel Torres and Melissa Torres, his cherished eight grandchildren and his dear sisters and brothers.
Visitation with a Prayer Service will take place on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 5 - 9 pm at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral chape;, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Interment will be in the Cementerio Nueva, Mao, Santiago Rodriguez, Dominican Republic at a future date.
