Pedro A. Genao, 70, passed away at his home with his family and friends at his side on Saturday, December 21, 2019. He was born and raised in Dominican Republic. He came to New York when he was 21 years old and in 1985, he moved to New Brunswick.
Pedro, along with his two brothers-in-law Jose and the late Gerardo Azcona, owned and operated the Havana Grocery Store on George Street in New Brunswick until his retirement ten years ago.
Pedro's family was his life. He was very devoted to his grandchildren, who he just adored.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 42 years, Gilda (Azcona) Genao, his loving children Luis Javier, Betty and Veronica, his cherished grandchildren, Johany, Saul, Danny, Isabella, Angeliz and Mia and his dear brothers and sisters Antonio, Laura, Carmen, Ana, Ramona, Simeon and Juan.
The visitation will take place on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick from 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, 75 Morris Street, New Brunswick, NJ at 10 am on Friday, December 27, 2019.
