Olga I. Santiago, 75, of Edison, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. She was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico and casme to Metchen, NJ at the age of 7. Olga later lived in Edison and New Brunswick before returning to raise her family in Edison.
Olga worked for over 27 years as a welder of electronic components for Westinghouse, Weldotron and ending her career with American Fiber Tech.
She was a strong woman, who went through many difficulties with her illnesses. A family lady, who loved the casinos, especially the slot machines and gardening. Olga led a simple life, her mornings consisted of her "coffee & the daily newspaper puzzle" with her husband. Then Olga and her husband, Jose would work on jigsaw puzzles in the afternoons and evenings.
Predeceased by her parents Juan and Arcadia (Torres) Perez, her sister, Carmen Cabrera, and her brother, Solome Perez, she leaves her beloved husband of 56 years Jose A. Santiago, her loving children, Janet Berrigan and Jose A. Santiago, II. her cherished grandchildren, Autumn I. Santiago, Joshua M. Berrigan, Jose A. Santiago, III and Connor M. Berrigan, her dear brothers and sister, Juan Perez, Patricio Perez, David Perez and Luz Arce and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 5 - 9 pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10 am at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish-Guardian Angel RC Church, 37 Plainfield Avenue, Edison, NJ. Entombment at St. Peter's Cemetery and Mausoleum, New Brunswick, NJ.
