Miriam Cohen, 92, was born in
Brooklyn, NY in 1929, the youngest of three
sisters. She graduated high school as a member
of Arista, the honor society at that time. She
married Robert Cohen in 1948 and raised three
sons while also working as a bookkeeper and office
manager for a law firm and mortgage company.
Miriam volunteered at Hadassah, synagogue
sisterhood, and as an election poll worker and
was a person committed to serving others even
into her 90s. She loved to travel and was an
enthusiastic participant in just about anything her
grandchildren and great grandchildren asked her
to do. She always wanted to learn new things and
have new experiences. Miriam was a connector
and remained close with friends she made
throughout her life. Her magic was that she made
each person feel like they were her best friend.
Miriam was predeceased by her husband Rob who
died in 2005 and is survived by three sons and
daughters-in-law, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great
grandchildren. Donations in her memory can be
made to Hadassah, UJA Federation, or Temple
Ner Tamid in Bloomfield, NJ.
