Mary Oziel Naar, 100, of Monroe Township, N.J., passed away on July 4, 2018, with her two children, Alice and Alan at her side. Born in New Brunswick, N.J., in February 1918, Mary was the daughter of Isaac and Matilda Oziel. She attended and graduated from New Brunswick High School and worked at Johnson & Johnson, as her father did. She married Sam A. Naar in June 1946 and the couple enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2003. They were long time members of the Congregation Etz Ahaim, first in New Brunswick, and then in Highland Park, N.J., where Mary was an officer of the Sisterhood. She was also a volunteer for Deborah Hospital for many years.
She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Her loving older brother, Jack Oziel, passed away in 2013. All the members of her extended family were together with her to celebrate her 100th birthday a few months ago.
Mary is survived by her two children, Alice Brown (and her husband, Joseph Brown), and Alan; four grandchildren, Meghan, Morgan, Rachel and Jesse; and one great grandchild, Marni.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 12 PM at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, New Brunswick, NJ.
