Martin Cotto, 68, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born and raised in Cidra, Puerto Rico. Martin came to New Brunswick in 1981.
He was a very hard working man, who was employed by Herris Candy, formally on Industrial Way, New Brunswick, for many years.
Martin loved to play baseball and his favorite team was the NY Yankees.. Devoted to his community, Martin has many friends, is a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Martin and his wife, Ana had a small side business, where he would roast whole pigs, while Ana would make all the side fixings to go along with the meat.
Every summer, he and the family would return to his beloved Cidra, Puerto Rico and visit with the extended family members.
Martin was predeceased by his parents, Arcadio and Isabel (Mendoza), he will be missed by his beloved wife Ana (Reyes) Cotto, his loving children, Raul, Nestaly and Jose, his cherished granddaughter, Kadijah Davis and great granddaughter, Kamoni Boseman, his dear sisters, Maria, Nasaria and Virginia and his brother, Orlando.
Visitation w ill take place at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 5-8 pm. Interment will follow later in the week at Jardin del Eden, Cidra, Puerto Rico.
