Martha Ann Bruno Cresti, 79, of North Brunswick, NJ, passed away on September 14, 2022 surrounded by family, in the comfort of her home.
Martha is survived by her loving children Michelle and Anthony; John Macce spouse of Michelle, Kristine Orvos Cresti, spouse of Anthony, seven grandchildren: John, Alexandra, Maximus, Natalia, Gianluca, Giacomo, and Xavier; her sisters, Mary Lombardo,Carol Ann Lombardo, her brothers Carmen Bruno and Peter Bruno. She is predeceased by her husband, Bruno Cresti, her brother Anthony Bruno, and parents Angela and Anthony Bruno.
Martha was born on June 10, 1943 in New Brunswick, NJ to Angela (nee Bongiovanni) and Anthony Bruno. Martha attended St. Mary of Mount Virgin elementary and St. Peter’s high school in New Brunswick.
Martha (nee Bruno) met Bruno Cresti at a wedding at St. Mary of Mount Virgin church in New Brunswick. They married on September 15, 1963 and had two children. They lived on Joyce Kilmer Ave, in New Brunswick for approximately ten years. Thereafter, they built a home in North Brunswick, NJ. She and her husband were the proprietors and managers of Adam's Liquors and Caffe Grappa. A determined fighter, Martha valiantly battled metastatic breast cancer for 17 years to see all her seven grandchildren become teenagers and much more. Martha loved to cook for family and friends who enjoyed it even more. Martha was the President of the North Brunswick Italian Cultural Society. As a result of the Society’s efforts enthusiastically led by Martha, many North Brunswick students enjoyed a scholarship to further their Italian Studies in Italy. Also, Martha was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Virgin Church; and a member of the St. Ann’s Society.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 2-6 PM at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. On Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10 AM a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, (Parish of the Visitation), 192 Sandford St., New Brunswick, NJ. Entombment will follow at the Franklin Memorial Park Mausoleum, North Brunswick, NJ.
