It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kristen Dené Drayton, who went to sleep on May 9, 2024, at the young age of 31. Kristen was born on July 10, 1992, and brought immense joy to all who knew her.
Kristen attended Lake Nelson School from Kindergarten through 8th grade and then attended Franklin High School. She went on to attend Raritan Valley Community College, where she earned her associate degree in Fine Art. She continued her education at Mason Gross School of the Arts in Rutgers University, where she was diligently working towards her bachelor’s degree.
Kristen currently worked at the Sapling School as teacher’s assistant in Kendall Park on Route 27, where she truly loved teaching and taking care of infants.
Kristen had a passion for art, a love for delicious food, and a talent for teaching little ones. She loved spending time with her friends and had a profound respect and affection for animals, which she demonstrated through her compassionate actions. She was also looking forward to someday being an aunt.
Liam Blake Ramsey, her beloved son, was the joy of her life. Kristen’s devotion to Liam was unwavering and evident in everything she did. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Elizabeth Drayton, and her father, Harvey Drayton, as well as her brothers, Tomas Drayton (Ysabel), Harvey Drayton Jr., and Nicholas Drayton. Liam’s father, Dwight Ramsey also mourns her loss.
Kristen also leaves behind her cherished aunt Marisol Drayton, uncle Keefe Drayton, and cousins Anjelique, Andrew and his girlfriend Ashley, Anthony, and Alexander Drayton and his fiancé Fernanda Zapata. Her aunt Wendy Blount, uncle Michael Blount, and cousins Sydney Morsell (Evan), Michael Blount Jr., Morgan Blount, and Erin Blount also mourn her loss. She is also survived by her aunt Sybil Drayton, uncle Courtney Drayton (Paul), aunt Anthonette Brand, aunt Viviana, uncle Miguel Rosas, uncle Osvaldo Perez, and cousins Angel Perez, Joshua Olivera, and Rosa Lia Perez. Kristen’s grandmother Lucila Rosas will also miss her dearly. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
During her last months, Kristen sought the Lord and studied the Bible with her dear friend Syonna. Our hope is that we will see her again when Christ returns.
