Julius (Gyula) Leopold, 91, passed away August 29, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital, New Brunswick. He was born in Csorotnek, Hungary on September 5, 1929. Having lived in New Brunswick and Franklin; Julius resided in North Brunswick for 44 years.
In 1956, Julius came to America with his wife and daughter, escaping the revolution to raise his family. The day after arriving to the Unites States, he began working until his retirement in 1995.
He was a master tailor for 67 years, working for Bond’s Clothing as director and manager of the pants division. In 1974, he began work for Norman Hilton as the pants shop manager. He retired from there to take care of his granddaughter, Kaitlyn, for two years. He returned to work for Macy’s Men’s Clothing where he worked from 1985-1995. Julius loved his loved his job and the clothing industry. He worked with detail, quality and perfection.
Always professional, he instilled in his children his greatest gifts; a work ethic of honesty, dedication and loyalty. He was a family man, always providing a loving, secure environment for his wife and three children. Julius was always a stylish dresser; had many gifts including gardening, a wonderful sense of humor, always smiling and dedication and love for God and his family. Julius was a parishioner of St. Ladislaus Church of New Brunswick, NJ since 1956.
Julius is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rozalia (Vadasz) Leopold of North Brunswick, NJ. He will be sadly missed by; his three children, Erika Lounsbery of VA, Jules Leopold, wife, Patty of Kendall Park and Steven Leopold, wife, Melissa of PA; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Jarrod and Kelsey of VA, Kaitlyn, husband, T.J. and Matthew of North Brunswick, Blake and Hunter of PA; four great-grandchildren, Abalene, Britton, Jordy and Lily; one sister, Ilona of Hungary.
Visitation will be held, 9:30AM to 10:45 AM, Saturday, September 4, 2021, Gowen Funeral Home, 239 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11AM, Saturday, September 4, 2021, St Ladislaus RC Church, 213 Somerset St, New Brunswick. Entombment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
