Jordan Sarnoff was born August 12, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to Irving and Faye Sarnoff. They moved to Highland Park, NJ when Jordan was 10. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1944. Upon graduation, Jordan enlisted in the Navy. A WWII veteran, he was stationed in Lake Champlain. In 1950, Jordan met and fell in love with Bernice Jacobs. The two were married on Thanksgiving weekend of 1951. Their first daughter, Shelley, was born exactly one year later. She was followed by Nancy, born in 1954 and Jill, born in 1958. Bernice passed away in 1964. In 1971, Jordan remarried Florence Margolin. They were married until 2008, when Florence passed away.
Jordan owned and operated Victory Cab Company in New Brunswick for 40 years. After retiring in 1996, he spent half of his time in NJ and half of his time in Florida. He was passionate about politics, the financial markets and sports. He was a longtime Yankees and Giants fan. He loved watching old movies and reminiscing about the past. He was generous with his time, wisdom and most of all his love. His family was everything to him. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and giving them his advice.
Jordan was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, husband and friend. He is survived by his three daughters, Shelley Sarnoff Pavon (Alan), Nancy Sarnoff Burke and Jill Sarnoff Makarevic (Stanley), seven grandchildren, Brian, Ryan, Brooke, Evan, Jason, Samantha and Jessica and one great granddaughter, Noelle, his sister Maxine Berlin of Del Ray Beach, Florida and Spencer Sarnoff of Somerset, NJ.
