John G Kovacs

John Geza Kovacs, 90, passed away on October 3, 2023.  He was born at home on August 28, 1933 in South Plainfield, NJ.  He is a graduate of Highland Park High School.  He served in the US Army for 6 years and worked at Westinghouse as an injection molder on an assembly line for 39 years before retiring in July 1998.

John enjoyed camping with his family and friends, as well as fishing and hunting.  He cherished watching his grandchildren play sports.  He was most proud of their college achievements.  John was a volunteer fireman for the North Brunswick Fire Company No. 3 for many years.  He was very handy taking on many projects around the house and working on the family cars.  He enjoyed yard work and gardening.

John was predeceased by his parents, John and Ida (Szaloczi) Kovacs, and his wife M. Elaine (Marsh) Kovacs.  He is survived by his son, John T. Kovacs and daughter-in-law Linda, his daughter, Carol Sawyer and son-in-law John and five grandchildren, Tara Baker (Hayden), Brianna Kovacs, John D. Sawyer, Brian Sawyer and Andrew Sawyer.
