James J. Talerico, 89, of North Brunswick, NJ, died on Friday, June 10, 2022, in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Hoboken, NJ, Mr. Talerico has been a resident of North Brunswick since 1964.
In high school, he was Senior Class President and Captain of the Archery team. Jim attended night school earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ.
During the Korean War, he served in Korea as a Military Police Officer. After he was discharged, Jim worked for many years as a Mechanical Engineer in the energy industry for Kellogg, Brown & Root and Stone & Webster. He was a Mechanical Engineer, helping in the designing and engineering of Newark Airport's (Liberty International) Terminal C and he also redesigned the vats at the Anheuser-Busch brewing Company facility in Newark. He joined the Port Authority of NY & NJ as a mechanical engineer in the 1970's and retired in the late 1980's after his wife fell ill.
Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife, Arleen Jean Schoener Talerico in 2013. Surviving are his loving sons, James J., Jr. and his fiancée Faith Edwin, of Denton, TX, Mark and his wife Irene, of Howell, NJ, Craig and his wife Noel, of Milltown, NJ and Jason, of North Brunswick, NJ, his adored grandchildren, Nicole, Kelly, CJ and Kyle Talerico, and his sisters Margie Clancey, of West New York, NJ and Josephine Amato, of Rockaway, NJ.
Family and friends may call at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 4 - 7 pm. A Blessing of the Repose of his Soul will be held at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 10 am. Followed by his entombment at the Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery in North Brunswick.
