Jack M Bean

February 21, 1939 — February 24, 2024

Monroe Township

Jack M. Bean passed peacefully on his own terms February 24th, just 3 days after his 85th birthday following two months of hospitalization. The only son of Florence and Albert Bean of Hillside, NJ, Jack attended Tusculum College in Tennessee, dutifully served in the United States Army, and met his wife of 59 years, Arlene (nee Goodman), in Philadelphia. They settled in North Brunswick, NJ, where they raised two children, Sherri (Goldstein) and Mark (Bean), and Jack became a respected and recognized volunteer within the community, especially for the youth soccer program. After his children had grown and started families of their own, Jack and Arlene moved to Monroe, NJ. Over the years, Jack created a successful accounting business in which he considered many of his clients as family.

Jack was simple, generous, humble, and genuinely kind. He truly enjoyed people and the human connection and had a unique gift for instantly leaving a lasting, positive impression on seemingly everyone he met. Jack valued every relationship, many of which spanned decades, which is a tribute to his infinite good nature. He was a gentle soul with a huge heart and embodied the kind of character to which everyone should aspire.

In recent years, Jack met with many medical challenges, all of which he faced with grace, acceptance, and an uncommon determination. He never complained about any sacrifice or inconvenience as he felt life was too important to be missed. He reveled in the achievements of his five grandchildren, was happiest playing the slots in Atlantic City, and equally content sitting behind his desk doing income tax returns. He loved his family deeply and through his many trials, exemplified why he will forever be their rockstar and Superman.

Jack is survived by his wife Arlene, daughter Sherri and son-in-law Steven, son Mark and daughter-in-law Kathryn, and grandchildren Morgan and Danya Goldstein and Lance, Brynn, and Logan Bean.
