Irving Frank

October 15, 1945 — January 28, 2025

Monroe, NJ

Irving “Buzz” Frank passed away on January 28, 2025, surrounded by family, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born on October 15, 1945, in the Bronx, NYC, to the late Natie and Nenny Frank. He was also predeceased by his sister, Carolee Rosenblatt.

Growing up in the Bronx, Buzz graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from CCNY and New York University, respectively. He later obtained his MBA from Rutgers University School of Business. He began his career in the defense industry, where he was one of the inventors of the electronic jamming technology used in the then top-secret Stealth Bomber. He later designed and installed the first modern electrical scoreboard system in Yankee Stadium. He went on to work as an IT consultant with JD Edwards, finishing his career at Franklin Electronics. In 1968, he married the former Leah Diamond, with whom he had two daughters, Carrie Ellen Snyder and Sandra Dorian Frank. He was predeceased by his wife in 2005 and his beloved dog Shelby in 2014. Buzz was a devoted grandfather to his four grandchildren—Libby Snyder, Maddie Snyder, Mason Powell, and Nate Powell—serving as a constant and enthusiastic supporter of their academics and athletics. He expressed his love primarily through action, always building, repairing, or installing something in his family’s homes, cars, appliances, and furniture. He is survived by his daughters, Carrie Snyder and her husband Dave of Kendall Park, NJ, and Sandra Frank and her husband Mike Powell of Canaan Valley, WV; his four grandchildren; his brother, Michael Frank, and his wife Iris of Bedford, NY; his beloved dogs, Jake and Hunter; his grand-dogs, Stella and Shay; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed.
