Howard M. Golob, 83, of Piscataway, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born in the Bronx, New York and was raised in a loving home in Rockville Centre, Long Island. He attended Cornell University and after serving in the United States Army graduated from Hofstra University. He earned his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School. He and his wife, Dr. Risa Golob, raised their two children, Laurence Golob and Dr. Janis Golob at their home in Piscataway. He cherished his grandchildren, Benjamin Golob and Naomi Golob.
Howard was a kind, generous, and principled man that valued family first and foremost. His lengthy career as a labor arbitrator demonstrated his strong ideals of justice and fairness. He was proud of his Jewish heritage, an ardent supporter of Israel, and a lifelong fan of the New York Football Giants.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Risa; son Laurence and his wife, Jennifer Paluch; daughter Janis and her partner Dan Jackson; grandchildren Benjamin and Naomi; brother Fred and his wife Nancy; sister Susan Welsch and her husband Charles; brother-in-law William Sternberg and his wife Harriet; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.
Services will be held at Highland Park Conservative Temple on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 1pm with the burial to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, New Jersey.
