Harold was born in Rochester, NY in 1943 to Ida and Fred Schneider. He attended University of Rochester undergraduate, then got his Masters and PHD at University of Chicago. In 1969, he married, Ellyn Silverstein, whom he had known since childhood. He started his career as a professor of mathematics at Roosevelt University in Chicago. There he started a family, becoming a proud father to Melissa, Shelly, and Amy. He also began branching out professionally, becoming an actuarial consultant and later, a full-time actuary. After brief stays in Indiana and Ohio, Harold and Ellyn settled in New Jersey. There Harold continued active participation in his synagogue community, returned to teaching college mathematics, and reveled in the births of his grandchildren Max, Beth, Sari, Shayna, Daniel, and Maya. Throughout his life, Harold passed on to everyone around him his passions for Disney, Broadway musicals, old time radio programs, and teaching. He has touched the lives of so many in a googleplex of ways.
