Frederick H. Rubinstein died Friday, May 10, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Fred was born in Manhattan but lived lived most of his life in Highland Park and North Brunswick before moving to Sea Bright.
He was Director of Group Pensions for Mutual Life Insurance of New York. After retiring, Fred became involved in real estate and started several successful businesses.
Fred was a generous man, contributing to a multitude of charities, most notably the New Brunswick Police in their annual Toy Drive at Christmas for many years.
Fred loved nothing more than his family and enjoyed sitting on his deck, overlooking the river, watching his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing or going to the beach as well.
He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Pauline (Arenofsky) Rubinstein and his sister Shirley Fleischner. Fred is survived by his wife of 47 years, Katherine "Pudge" (Bonanne) Rubinstein, his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and James Unangst; his son and daughter-in-law Michael and Katherine Rubinstein; his five grandchildren: Brooke, Ryan, Cyrus Phoebe and Benjamin and his brothers Jack and Alan Rubinstein.
Funeral services will be held at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Fred's name to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
