Elaine H Schlesinger

Elaine (Teitelbaum) Schlesinger passed away at home on November 7, 2023, surrounded by her well cared for cats. We mourn our loss but celebrate her life.

Elaine married Edwin (Eddie) Schlesinger in March 1951 and they were married for 56 years until his passing in 2007. They had four sons, including Martin & Leslie Schlesinger; Craig & Felice Schlesinger; Steven Schlesinger; and Jonathan Schlesinger and Henry Grullon. Elaine’s beloved extended family includes six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Elaine was a caring, efficient, and strong-willed person who was a force in our large family and in the family’s business. She had a lifelong passion for animals and welcomed numerous indoor and outdoor cats along with other four-legged extended family members.

Our mother’s incredible will was most evident in both the many families moves with her spouse and children in tow and her decades long fight against cancer. Elaine survived breast, colon, and ovarian cancer.  She was the longest surviving stage 4 cancer patient of her incredible oncologist.

Elaine was strong willed and clear minded throughout her life. She was loved by many and deeply respected for her compassion and dedicated to her family and her cats.
