Mrs. Elaine Singer

Elaine Norma Singer (nee Sacks), 88, passed away Saturday, June
17, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in
Jersey City, to Beatrice and Emanuel Sacks, Elaine lived in Highland
Park for 35 years before moving to Monroe Township 26 years ago.
Elaine was a proud graduate of Dickinson High School and the
University of Connecticut. After college, Elaine started a career in social
work but left to raise her family. With her kids all grown up, Elaine
returned to the work force and, until her retirement, was a successful
residential real estate agent, most recently at Levinson & Associates, in
Monroe Township. Elaine traveled the world with Stuart, her beloved
husband and favorite dance partner for nearly 63 years. She was a
voracious reader, crossword master, bridge player, and accomplished
baker, who never showed up for family birthday celebrations without her
signature chocolate cake. For many years she was an active member of
the League of Woman Voters, the Wednesday Wanderers, and the
Greenbrier Woman’s Golf League. Elaine was also a long-time member
of Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick where she
formerly served on the Board of Trustees and ran the temple gift shop.
Adored by her family and friend to many, Elaine will be greatly missed.
Elaine is survived by her daughter Linda Singer Roth, son-in-law
Steven Roth, grandson Liam Roth, brother and sister-in-law Alan and
Jeanie Sacks, several nieces, and nephews and many cousins. Elaine was
predeceased by her husband Stuart, son Leigh J. Singer and sister-in-law
Vivian Leibowitz.
