Charles W. Walker, 87, entered into eternally life on April 21, 2015 at the Regency Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Somerset, NJ after fighting a long battle with cancer. He was born in Overthorpe, Georgia to the late Charles and Martha Walker and spent his growing up years in Maryland before moving to New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1962.
A plumber by trade, he loved to work for many of the family members as well as friends and new customers. In his later years, Charles would work with his son Gregory painting, wallpapering and maintaining the building at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing poker. Charles was a former member of the New Brunswick Benevolent Protective Order of Elks. He also spent time with his friends at the After Hours Club in Somerset, New Jersey. Predeceased by his parents, a brother Ernest, a sister Grace and a daughter Patricia, Charles leaves behind a host of family, his sons Charles, Jr., Gregory, Bernard and CD, his daughters Cynthia Gibson and Delores, his sister Clara Tillman, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Visiting and Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, April 28th, then Charles will be laid to rest at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Administration Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
