Charles Howard Thompson, 67, the last male child born to Albert and Elsie Thompson on March 28, 1954 in East Millstone, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Elsie Thompson, brothers Sylvester and William Thompson, sisters, Elizabeth Thompson, Anna Mae Daniels, Lillian Jenkins and Dolores Gardner.
Charles joined St. James A>M>E> Church, East Millstone, NJ at an early age and later joined Emmanuel Baptist Church, Somerset, NJ.
After school, Chuckie had a part time job as a butcher, which was taught to him by Putson. He went on to become a licensed butcher. When the market closed, he took a job ast Shop Rite grocery store as a butcher. Charles worked as an employee of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Brunswick, NJ, in the purchasing department as a clerk and acknowledgements as Employee of the Month. Chuckie also worked for St. Peter's University Hospital as a Material Handler and part time in the cafeteria for over 30 some years.. Chuckie retired in March of 2020.
Charles had two children Charles and Kyana. On June 22, 1991, Charles married Lavilla Doretha Garrett at First Batist Church. From this marriage he had Shalemar and Sheila Thompson.
He leaves a legacy of joy to cherish his memories: his wife, Lavilla Thompson, of Virginia Beach, VA, daughters Kyana McCray, of Somerset, NJ and Sheila Thompson, of Florida, sons Charles McCray, of Atlanta, GA, and Shalemar Thompson, of Union, NJ, grandchildren Charles Lee, CLM, Jr., Brooke, Grace, Charli, Michael, Noah, Siselei, Gabriel, Sebastian, Shataya, Jordan, and Jalen, sisters Doris Long, of Atlanta, GA, Mary Ruffin, of Stanhope, NJ, and Ruth Ann Brunson, of Prince George, VA, sisters-in-law Hallie Garrett and Latonia Garrett, brothers-in-law Fred Garret and Alan Garret and father-in-law Fred Garrett, Sr.
