Eulogy
Rev. Caroline Ngendo Macharia
Rev. Carol was born in Nairobi County, Kenya on March 12, 1972. She was the firstborn child of Mr. Edward Ndungu Mereka and Loise Wangui Mereka.
She joined St. Anne Nursery School in Parklands at the age of 3 years.
At the age 6 years she joined Nairobi Primary School, where she sat for her K.C.P.E in 1986.
She joined Msongari Girls High School in 1987 and sat for the K.C.S.E in 1990.
In 1995 she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Business Relations from St. Thomas University in Minneapolis, MN U.S.A. She later joined Rutgers University in 2015 graduating in May 2016 with an MBA.
Upon graduating from St. Thomas University, Rev. Carol worked for American Express company from 1996 to 2014. She then joined Bank of America until September of 2015. At the beginning of 2016 she joined Foundation International to study Non-Profit finance administration, which she was pursuing until her demise.
Rev. Carol was baptized as an infant in 1972 at P.C.E.A Naaro, Muranga County. She was a member of St. Andrews P.C.E.A church, Nairobi where at the age of 13 years she committed her life to Christ as her Lord and savior.
Rev. Carol got married to the love of her life Rev. Dominic Macharia on May 8th 2004. They had an exemplary family admired by many until her demise.
She was sister to Anthony Mereka and sister in law to Lucy Mereka of Maryland. She was daughter in law to Bishop Francis Macharia & Hannah Mburu (House of Hope, Nairobi), sister in law to Rev. Joseph Mburu (House of Hope, Nakuru), Beth Kagai (Nakuru), Ruth Kinyanjui (Nairobi), Peter Mburu (Nakuru), Rev. Steve Mburu (House of Hope, Nakuru), Josephine Nduta (Nakuru), Anthony Mburu (Nakuru), and Andrew Mburu (Doha, Qatar). She was auntie to many nieces and nephews and leaves behind many spiritual sons and daughters.
In May of 2011, she and her husband founded Kingdom Ambassadors Church where she was ordained as a minister of the gospel. She served as an Associate Pastor until the day she went to be with the Lord.
Rev. Carol travelled wide both locally and internationally ministering to children, youth and women. She was particularly passionate in empowering children, youth and the young adults holistically. She connected very well with both young and old with her contagious smile and personality.
Rev. Carol passed away on the morning of April 16th, 2019 following a brave battle with a very aggressive triple negative breast cancer. May she rest in eternal peace.
