Carmen M. (Perez) Cabrera, 89, passed away peacefully at the New Eastwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Easton, PA on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico and came to the United States in 1952. She had lived in Metuchen, NJ for many years before moving to Edison forty years ago.
She was employed as a line worker for Jewlitt Plastics in Metuchen, NJ for several years before becoming a stay home mother and homemaker for her family.
Carmen was a congregant of Guardian Angel RC Church in Edison and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in New Brunswick.
Predeceased by her parents Juan and Acardia (Torres) Perez and her brother Ralfi, she is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Felix, her loving children Robert Cabrera, Darlene Arbelo and Gladys Gonzalez, her dear brothers Juan, David and Louie Perez and her sisters Lucy Arce and Olga Santiago, her six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visiting will take place on Thursday, July 13, 2017 fro 5-9 pm at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Funeral Mass on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 75 Morris Street, New Brunswick, NJ. Entombment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery and Mausoleum, New Brunswick, NJ.
