CHERRY HILL, NJ
Barry David Lawson, 79, passed away on Saturday March 7, 2020, at the Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing Home, located in Somerset, NJ. Barry was born and raised in the Bronx and moved to Kendall Park, NJ, in 1972. For the past few years he resided in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Barry will be remembered for his late-night telephone calls, his restaurant and food suggestions, and his love of the New York Yankees. He was a total New Yorker and let everyone know he was from the Bronx. Barry always gave you his opinion whether you wanted to listen or not.
It was important to him to keep in touch with his childhood friends and in later years he formed many friendships in Cherry Hill. He was nominated to the board of his apartment building and drove a friend to her cancer treatments. Barry had a special place in his heart for his children Cindy and Eric. He checked in with his former wife Ellen every day to make sure everything was ok and to share lots of what he deemed “important” information. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed seeing them.
He is predeceased by his parents Ida Barrish and Elias Lawson and sister Viki Lawson. Barry leaves behind former wife Ellen Lawson, his children Cindy Papa and granddaughter Victoria Papa, son Eric Lawson and his wife Jenna and grandsons Connor and Peyton Lawson.
