With a profound sense of loss we share the news of the passing of our mother, Adelaide Brenner. Born June 23, 1926 in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Adelaide grew up in Highland Park, where she enjoyed playing sports, playing piano and taking car trips with her family. Adelaide attended NYU and subsequently graduated from Indiana University. After completing college, Adelaide went to work for the State Board of Child Welfare in Newark. On her way to work one day, Adelaide was introduced to her future husband, Terrill, by her sister Madeleine. Their love affair grew and they spent almost 68 years married before Terrill passed away. During her early married years, Adelaide was active in the Anshe Emeth Temple Sisterhood. Adelaide had many friends and interests including bowling and tennis, enjoyed family time at Rutgers football and basketball games across the country. In her later years, Adelaide enjoyed international travel with her husband, visiting Italy, Ireland, France, Scandinavia, and Austria among other countries. They had two beautiful children, Philip and Peter, who, together with her son in law Jeffrey, were with her at home at the time of her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isreal and Rachel Marcus, her brother Harold, sister Madeleine, and her husband Terrill. She is survived by her sons Philip, Peter and Jeffrey and many caring cousins, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces.
